based on the Barry Sears Zone Diet program.
It serves three metro areas: Balance For
Life of Florida was established in October
2001, while the Chicago metro area
operations were established in February of
2003, and Balance For Life of New York was
established in 2004. In the New York area,
the company delivers to southwest
Connecticut, Long Island, and parts of New
Jersey. In Florida, the company delivers to
a large tri-county region, including: Palm
Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties.
The company has plans to expand into
Washington DC and Atlanta by the Winter of
2008. The firm does sell franchises but none
are yet operating.
The company claims to serve CEOs,
homeowners, business owners, busy executive,
and many couples.

How
The Service Works
Balance For life delivers daily,
3 gourmet
meals and 2 snacks, all prepared by the firm's Executive Chef and his
teams. The meals are based on the Zone Diet, also known as 40-30-30 (40%
carbohydrates / 30% protein / 30% dietary fats). Balance For Life
makes everything fresh daily and structures the meals around any allergies
or medical conditions that you may have. Every meal or snack has two options
for you to choose from and if there are certain items you cannot have, or do
not like, they work with you to make substitutions.
The plan is flexible. All of clients get the 3 basic meals
(breakfast, lunch and dinner), but, depending on your metabolism, exercise
level, current weight, etc., you can receive anywhere from 2-4 snacks to
help you "balance out" your day.
On the program you can
expect 1-3 lbs per week of real weight loss (not water weight) depending on
your level of commitment and exercise.
Daily deliveries are
dropped off in insulated cooler bags with ice packs each evening for
consumption the next day. All meals are packaged in individual microwaveable
containers. They even give you utensils and a 16 oz. bottle of water.
If you need some help,
there is a support staff of three, real people available by phone or email
Monday to Friday and some support on the weekends.
The Cost
Prices
are as follows:
Standard
Program-33 day cycle
7 days = $35.95 per day.
6 days = $38.95 per day – Flexible Weekend Plan
Choose your meals from both Saturday & Sunday’s
meal choices to create your personal weekend plan and take a day off.
5 days = $39.95 per day no weekends. So this is
really six weeks of meal delivery service.
On a monthly basis, the cost would range from
about $800 to $1,100, depending on whether you get the 5-day or 7-day plan.
There is a one-time bag fee of $25. However,
shipping IS included in the above prices.
The DoubleDeal – 33 day cycle
7 days = $19.95 per day, per person (note: 2
person minimum and must be delivered to same address).
On the DoubleDeal, you get 2 main meals for
you, 2 main meals for your friend or spouse, 2 snacks (one each), 2 bottles
of water, and 2 utensil packs, all in one sealed cooler bag, with ice packs.
Prices are negotiable and promotions are
frequently provided.

One of the things we like about this service is
that Balance For Life allows you to make meal choices from two selections.
We also like the fact that they do throw in some useful extras, such as: a
bottle of water, a daily newsletter with your delivery, accommodations for
vegetarians, a personal journal, and a rewards program for referrals.
